Chiqa
aka Datil D'Esglai

Datil is a superb plain, fawn puppy that comes from the combination of Ch. Morgana D'esglai own and bred by Ana Perez Velilla from the D'Esglai kennel in Barcelona, Spain + Ch Boxerpark Peter Pan, a nice boxer bred and own by Alex Palacin.

I saw Datil through the web in a boxer forum and decided to know more about that beautiful fawn baby. Due to my lack of experience I asked my good friend Monique, Tanyati Kennel, about her and she just loved Datil so I decided to keep her and immediately began a phone conversation with Ana.

Datil comes from a litter of 3 puppies, she was the only fawn and two brindle siblings. When I saw Datil called my attention her paws, gorgeous beautiful, very tight fingers, something very difficult to find and of course good bone quality and a rich black mask.

In my opinion a name has to represent what the dog is, and since she was going to be, together with my Tanyati Unforgettable a.k.a. Chloe, the foundation of Ironblade I decided to name her after "Chiqa", a quechua word that means Base, Column, Foundation and the pronunciation is a bit complicated for me because I don't speak quechua so I just pronounce it as CHEEKAH which is much easier

The next step was to prepare all the necessary papers for Chiqa to come to me and also how she was going to come or if I had to go and pick her up so we sorted out that and a very nice lady named Adriana Colasanto, friend of Ana, gladly acceded to bring Chiqa to America from Barcelona to Argentina so Ana had to hurry with permit papers and itineraries. Afterwards, I just got my ticket to Argentina and flew one day in advanced so I was not going to have any problem receiving my Spanish girl.

Once in Buenos Aires, Pablo Gonzales helped me out there in everything and for that I am very thankful for his kindness and PATIENCE with me; the next step was to look for a hotel where I could have Chiqa with me and after hours I found a very nice and kind girl named Romina at the Wharlton Hotel in Belgrano, Buenos Aires and she said YES to Chiqa and for that I am very grateful.

Finally the day arrived and Chiqa was there..well for you not to get bored with my long story I just want to say that Chiqa came very friendly to me and not afraid of anything, she was a very lovely girl, licking me all the time waving her long tail and with her nice expression she just said " take me home" and with no problems ahead we just headed to the hotel. Chiqa behaved like a lady, nobody noticed her in the hotel so everybody was happy.

Chiqa is a quiet girl, not shy but careful with strangers, she does not wave the tail to anyone, just to the ones she knows or inspire her and has proved to be a strong girl when playing with Chloe. She knows perfectly well how to develop herself among dogs and is such a lovely gringa that now Chloe protects her like her only child, she loves Chloe and learnt quickly from her, Chiqa does not run away when being loosen in the park, instead, she prefers to stay close to me or follows her big African sister

Chiqa is a very healthy, vigorous girl, she is very friendly, loves kissing everybody, she is just a peach, has a very good apetite and when she came she had a few skin spot problems but thanks to the raw diet Chiqa is recovering wonderfully well, now I just hope things go well and for now enjoy her in this super site

So I thank Ana for giving Chiqa to me, Adriana for bringing Chiqa to me, Monique for guiding me in this breeding adventure, Pablo for helping me in Buenos Aires and Romina for allowing my Spanish girl in the great Wharlton hotel
